The Delhi High Court is considering Kejriwal’s appeal against his Enforcement Directorate arrest.

In response to the Aam Aadmi Party’s legal cell’s request for a protest at district courts regarding chief minister Arvind Kejriwal’s apprehension by the Enforcement Directorate in a money-laundering case linked to an alleged excise policy scam, the Delhi High Court stressed the serious consequences of organizing a protest within the court premises.

Judge Swarana Kanta Sharma declared: “I’ll send out a notice about this and wait for a response. I’ll give you a very small window of time for interim relief.” The Delhi government maintains the continuation of welfare programs and subsidies in spite of Kejriwal’s detention, emphasizing the autonomy of program administration and public support of social welfare money. During a march calling for Kejriwal’s resignation, Delhi Police used water cannons to scatter BJP workers, which resulted in the arrest of about 57 demonstrators, including Virendra Sachdeva, the president of the Delhi BJP. Protesters gathered despite police objections, claiming that Kejriwal’s government was unlawful, while AAP supporters marched for his release, expressing worries about constitutional infractions and democracy.
