On Friday night, Tamil actor Daniel Balaji died after a heart attack. He was 48 years old. The actor’s abrupt death has shocked fans, family, and colleagues in the Tamil cinema industry. His lifeless remains are being held at his Purasaiwakkam residence for final rites.

Daniel Balaji, born in December 1975, started his career as a unit production manager in Kamal Haasan’s incomplete film ‘Marudhunayagam’. He made his television acting debut in the Tamil serial ‘Chithi’, playing the part of Daniel. His debut Tamil film was ‘April Maadhathil’, and he then appeared in ‘Kaadhal Kondein’. He has made appearances in Malayalam and Kannada movies in addition to Tamil ones.

Daniel received praise for his roles in films such as ‘Vettaiyadu Vilayadu’, ‘Vada Chennai’, and ‘Polladhavan’. He also played one of the antagonists in the Telugu film ‘Chirutha’. Balaji debuted in Malayalam cinema with the film ‘Black’. Later, he appeared in ‘Bhagavan’, which also starred Mohanlal, and Mammootty’s action film ‘Daddy Cool’.
