Gopal Krishna Goswami Maharaj, chairman of the Governing Council of ISKCON India and one of ISKCON’s most senior monks, died on Sunday in Dehradun. He passed away around 9:30 a.m. The news of his death has sparked a wave of sadness among fans.
On May 2, Gopal Krishna Goswami Maharaj attended the temple’s foundation stone laying event at Dudhli.According to the report, he slipped and fell, breaking his lungs. He had been treated at Synergy Hospital for three days. He breathed his last breath this morning.
This was confirmed by the hospital’s MD, Kamal Garg. Devotees will be able to see his final darshan at 3:30 p.m. at the ISKCON temple in Delhi. His body will be brought to Vrindavan tomorrow. Its time has not yet been determined.
