India was once a wealthy country, but it became poor as a result of plundering by numerous foreign rulers.

Shrinivasa Varakhedi, Vice-Chancellor of Central Sanskrit University in New Delhi, believes that the development of the Sanskrit language should extend beyond literature.

Speaking at an international conference on ‘Science and Technology in Ancient Indian Literature in Modern Perspective’, which began on Monday at Central University of Odisha (CUO), he stated that Sanskrit should also be used for scientific and technological advancement.

“The ancient Indian traditions of all disciplines, including science and technology, should be revived if we want to achieve a developed India,” he declared. India was once an economically prosperous country, but owing to theft by numerous foreign rulers, it became impoverished.

“However, we will fight back for development. He emphasized the importance of developing local knowledge for this aim. On the occasion, vice-chancellor of National Sanskrit University, GSR Krishna Murty, stated that Sanskrit should be multifaceted and combined with other fields for learning.

Chakradhar Tripathi, vice-chancellor of the host school, launched the conference, which was hosted by the Sanskrit department. It was attended by the vice chancellor of four universities.
