The NCERT added that it is trying to supply school books on time, having printed and delivered almost 33 lakh books for Classes 1, 2, 7, 8, 10, and 12 to retailers so far.
Under the new syllabus, textbooks for Classes 3 and 6 will be produced by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) in April and May, respectively. The Council has advised parents and kids to be patient and not to worry.
The announcement that the textbooks will be released this month and in May comes after the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) urged all affiliated institutions to use the new syllabus and textbooks for Classes 3 and 6 beginning with the 2024-25 academic session.
Additionally, the NCERT said that it is working to ensure that school supplies arrive on schedule, having printed almost 33 lakh books for Classes 1, 2, 7, 8, 10, and 12. and delivered to bookshops thus far. While books for classes 3, 4, 5, 9, and 11 will be available this month, those for Class 6 will be accessible in May, according to the Council.
NCERT has decided to release the books for the two classes under the new syllabus because Class 3 and Class 6 correspond to the beginning of the preparatory and middle stages, respectively, and because they required revision to bring them into compliance with the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCFSE).
In order to facilitate a smooth transition to the new syllabus, schools affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) can use the “bridge programme” for Class 6 and the “brief guidelines” for Class 3.
